Easter 2024

31st March 2024 The Presence of the Holy Spirit Ps Josh Hartog

John 14:16-27

One of the major themes in the Last Supper is the Holy Spirit, who Jesus mentions four times. This Sunday we’re going to look at Jesus’ imminent departure and how Jesus encourages his distraught disciples with the promise of the Holy Spirit. We’re going to look at how the Spirit helps us continue to walk with Jesus even though he has risen and is now physically in heaven.

29th March 2024 Responding to Jesus Jacob Greatbatch (Good Friday)

Good Friday is a truly good day. It's a day that we get to reflect on the death of Jesus on the cross for our sins. This Good Friday we'll be contemplating together the events that led up to Jesus' death,

and the people who were there. What would they have been thinking? How did they respond to Jesus? What can we learn from them? We'll see together how in spite of all the different responses to himself, Jesus stayed faithful to his mission - to go to the cross.

17th March 2024 The Persecution of Jesus' Followers Ps Josh Hartog

John 15:18-16:4,33

At Easter we take some time to reflect on the death and resurrection of Jesus. And it shouldn’t surprise us that as Jesus prepares to suffer and die, that he also prepares his disciples for suffering and persecution. This Sunday we’re going to reflect on the persecution of Jesus’ followers. We’re going to see that we will face hatred, persecution, and tribulation as we faithfully witness to Jesus. But we’re also going to see why Jesus tells us these things and the peace and courage he gives.
