Keeping the Heart

1. Keeping the Heart 17th July 2022
Text: Proverbs 4:23

The main part of an iceberg is unseen, below the surface. In the same way, the main part of our lives is unseen by other people, our hearts. God cares, not just about our outward behaviour, but the thoughts and attitudes of our hearts. We’re starting a new series on what it looks like to invest in our inner lives, and how we can keep our souls healthy no matter what circumstances we find ourselves in. This Sunday we’re starting by looking at Proverbs 4:23, ‘Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life.’ We’re going to see what it means to keep the heart, why it takes vigilance, what difference it makes, what you need to do it, and what it looks like in your daily life?

We’re going to remember that ultimately the church is Jesus’ church and he’s with us, even in church conflict, and that changes everything.
